MEDICAL SECRETARY/PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO OUR GPs
The purpose of the role is to maintain an effective PA and Medical Secretarial Service, providing support to the GP and Clinical Team.
This post is part of a job-share and there will be a requirement for the holder to provide annual leave and sickness cover for their counterpart.
Medical Secretarial duties including audio typing, scanning documents into medical records, letters of invitation for appointments and E-referrals
Liaison with patients/ hospitals and GPs as and when necessary.
Provide support and advice to GP’s on Clinical and IT systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
To work closely with the GP Rota Manager to accurately maintain the Practice diary.
Computer literacy, experience in medical information systems (ideally EMIS WEB, Lexacom and DocMan)
Knowledge of clinical terminology to Medical Secretarial standards or a Medical Secretarial qualification.
Experience of working in a GP Practice, or comparable professional team where maintenance of strict confidentiality is essential.
