Flu Immunisation

*This year to comply with social distancing we are planning on offering some flu clinics in the local village halls.*

Clinics will be held at:

Broughton Village Hall - Tuesday 29th September and Tuesday 13th October

Longstock Village Hall - Saturday 3rd October

Kings Somborne Village Hall - Saturday 17th October

These clinics have been put on in keeping with the timings of the delivery of our flu vaccines. The clinics will be for those patients age >65 and those age 18-65 with underlying qualifying health conditions. Children's flu vaccine clinics will be arranged once we have a date finalised for their delivery.

Due to guidance surrounding social distancing and PPE requirements the number of patients we can vaccinate per clinic will be less than in previous years. However we are putting on more clinics than in previous years to accommodate for this and in the expectation of a greater uptake of the flu vaccine this year. We will still be offering opportunistic vaccinations at the surgery and home vaccinations for our housebound patients.

Patients age 50-64 with no underlying health conditions will only be offered the flu vaccine from November onwards in accordance with national guidance if there is sufficient supplies of the vaccine.

In the hot summer months many of us experience night sweating and difficulty sleeping... but could this be a sign of the menopause?

The menopause can cause physical symptoms (such as hot flushes, night sweats, palpitations, insomnia, joint aches) and psychological symptoms (such as mood swings, irritability, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, difficulty coping and forgetfulness).

The "Friends & Family test" is a feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use NHS services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience that can be used to improve services. We have enabled an on-line Friends & Family test and it can be accessed by clicking here or on the "Patient Survey" button at the bottom of the home page.
