Stockbridge Surgery Dispensary

The Practice has a Dispensary based at Stockbridge where repeat and acute medication can be dispensed. We are also able to dispense acute medication from our Broughton Surgery. Please note not all our patients are eligible for dispensing with ourselves. If you live more than 1.6 kilometres (one mile) as the crow flies from a chemist, we may be able to dispense your prescription from our Dispensary. For further information please check with the Reception Team, Please note some Patients may not have dispensing rights even though they live the required distance.

  • The Dispensary opens Monday  to Friday 08:15 - 18:00 (closed between 12:45 - 13:45)
  • Prescriptions may be collected from the Surgery between 08:15 - 12:45 and 13:45 - 18:30 each weekday and Saturday mornings 09:00 - 12:00.
  • Being a rural Practice, we provide a prescription collection and delivery service to some of the surrounding villages. This delivery/collection of medication is mainly for elderly patients.  Further details on the Collection and Delivery Service can be found in the Dispensing Leaflet.
  • Please check with Reception to see if you are eligible.
  • Do read our Dispensing Leaflet

Repeat Prescriptions

We do not accept repeat prescription requests by telephone, except in emergencies.  It can be confusing to order drugs over the phone and it increases the number of calls on an already busy switchboard and may block the line for emergency calls.

Note: If you are exempt from prescription charges, proof of entitlement needs to be seen each time you sign for and collect your prescription.

Please also take note of any messages on your repeat slip.  You may be requested to make an appointment for a review of your medications.  Without the review our Dispensers will not be able to dispense your medication.

Please allow at least 2 working days before collection as we need time to process your request

How to Request a Repeat Prescription Online

The practice strongly encourages the use of Patient Access* as it helps us process your request more easily. To sign up to this service please collect your Practice ID, Personal Access ID and on-line access instructions from reception at either Stockbridge or Broughton.

Post or in person

Our preference is to receive orders via the repeat medication slip which can be posted or handed in to the surgery.

If you have a repeat prescription, you should have a printed request slip showing the drugs that you are on. When you have about one week's supply left, tick the items you need on the request slip and hand it in to either Stockbridge or Broughton Surgery or post it to: The Surgery, New Street, Stockbridge SO20 6HG.

Fax

You may fax your request on 01264 810591

In all cases it helps us a great deal if you quote your patient number. This number can accurately identify you and it appears at the top right side of your repeat prescription slip

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.

Please allow two full working days between requesting and collecting your medication.
