We provide a full range of antenatal and postnatal care on a shared basis with the local district hospitals at Andover, Salisbury and Winchester. Clinics are run by the Community Midwife and held on Thursday's at Broughton Surgery.
- The Community Midwives are based at Andover Birthing Centre. They aim to provide you with the best care possible before your baby is born, during your labour and then at home up to approximately 10 days after your baby is born.
- Sarah, who is the main midwife assigned to our Practice, runs a 'booking clinic' every Thursday morning at our Broughton Surgery for ladies who have just found out they are pregnant. Please call reception to book; you do not need to have seen a GP first. This appointment usually takes place at around 8 - 12 weeks into your pregnancy. Follow up appointments will be at the ante-natal clinic, also on Thursday at Broughton Surgery. These appointments are for checking that your pregnancy is progressing normally; for you to get to know your midwife and for you to take the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
- You can ring the Andover Birthing Centre on 01264 352517 at any time of the day, or night, to speak to a qualified midwife if you have any concerns. Sarah will also discuss with you your intended place of delivery, whether it be at home, the Andover Birthing Centre, Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester) or one of the other main hospitals in the area of your choice.
